Tuition Assistance Programs

Tuition Assistance Program

Thank you for your interest in the Stowe Mountain Bike Academy Programs.

The Stowe Mountain Bike Academy (SMBA) believes that opportunity provides the best path to success for youth athletes. It is our goal to provide high quality mountain bike instruction for any youth athlete and we offer several tuition assistance options to ensure our programs are accessible to all.

SMBA has partnered with the Vermont Mountain Bike Academy, a non-profit organization created by the founders of SMBA, to create financial assistance programs to ease the financial burden of participation in qualifying cycling programs and races in Vermont. Each of these funds have slightly different qualifications, deadlines and requirements.

General Tuition Assistance

The General Tuition Assistance Fund provides assistance based on an athlete’s financial need, commitment to SMBA’s programs and the availability of funds. This program includes:

Sliding Scale Tuition Assistance→
Flexible, No-Interest Payment Plans→

Competitive Athlete Fund

The Competitive Athlete Fund provides assistance to athletes ages 18 to 25 years old who are engaged in cycling competition.

Competitive Athlete Fund

The Competitive Athlete Fund provides assistance to athletes ages 18 to 25 years old who are engaged in cycling competition.

The Competitive Athlete Fund awards are based on several factors which include the nature of the assistance requested, a review of the athlete’s goals for which the award will be applied, and a demonstration of an athlete’s commitment to SMBA’s mission and programs.

Flexible, No-Interest Payment Plans

Payment plans require a $100 deposit and then a periodic payment of at least $25 until the balance is paid in full. SMBA will allocate the remaining balance to monthly payments not to exceed 6 months for camps, or 8 months for race programs, or beyond the program start date for progression programs.

Participants may enter several payment plans but all programs must be paid in full seven days prior to the program start date with the exception of the SMBA Race Program.
