Stowe is one of the premier mountain bike destinations in New England with an enticing mixture of flow trails, technical singletrack, stunning landscapes and exceptional restaurants and breweries.

Stowe’s most connected and certified coaching team offers a premier guiding service that provides riders of all ability levels with the opportunity to truly experience Stowe’s diverse mountain bike trail network. From Stowe highlights to the hidden gems, SMBA instructors will tailor a ride to your interest - fast and flowy, scenic and mellow, instructed and techy - we’ll dial in the best adventure for you!

Stowe Flow

This ride is for mountain bikers looking for a low-milage, flow-trail experience. We'll tackle some of Stowe's finest machine-built singletrack linking a number of trails together in a 2.5-hour ride starting and ending at the Cady Hill Forest trailhead.

 

2.5 hours, $200+

Stowe Highlights

This ride is for intermediate+ mountain bikers looking to explore a mixture of flow-trails and old-school Vermont singletrack. We'll begin our 3.5-hour adventure in the Cady Hill Forest trail network with some non-technical climbs and exhilarating descents before making our way up to the legendary Trapp Family Lodge. From here, we'll explore the surrounding trails to test our technical climbing skills and soak up the views of the Worcester Mountains and Mt. Mansfield before making our way back into town.

3.5 hours, $300+

Stowe Grand Tour

This ride is for adventure seekers looking for a challenging 4.5-hour ride exploring some of Vermont's finest trails. We'll begin the day in the Cady Hill Forest trail network before making our way up to the pristine Adam's Camp trail network via the Trapp Family Lodge trails. We'll test our technical climbing and descending skills before making our way back into town for some hard-earned libations.*

Stowe Epic

This ride is for experienced mountain bikers looking to test their endurance and fitness on a full-day, 4.5-hour tour of all of Stowe's main trail networks. We'll warm up our legs on the Cady Hill Forest trails before making our way up to the Trapp Family Lodge trail network, Adam's Camp and Sterling Forest. After an invigorating day of technical climbing and thrilling descents, we’ll cruise into town for some well-deserved eats and refreshments.*

 

4.5 hours, $400+

Instructed Tours

Part tour part private lesson! Instructional tours are a fun way to follow our certified coaches while exploring our local trail networks.

This hybrid offering will provide an opportunity to explore Stowe’s best terrain and obstacles while honing your skills. We’ll customize a ride just for you!

 

Our Guides are familiar with lots of trail systems outside of Stowe as well and are happy to meet you for a small trip fee at a trail system of your choice!

*Food and refreshments are not included in the guided-ride prices.

Don’t see an appointment available? Please submit an inquiry below and we will do our best to accommodate your needs!

What’s provided

  • Safe and fun guiding (and/or MTB clinic) experience.

  • A ride tailored to suit the client(s) interests and ability level(s).

  • Additional on-trail instruction/sessioning (as requested).

  • Transportation for up to 11 persons and bikes via Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van and Trailer (if necessary)

  • Local knowledge of trails, trail etiquette, proper Leave-No-Trace principles, local food/drink/bike shop recommendations.

  • A First Aid, Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder certification and a well-stocked First Aid Kit.

  • CPR certified and background-checked

  • Knowledge of on-trail mountain bike repairs and the necessary toolkit for these repairs.

  • Radio, Cell and/or Garmin Satelite phone, emergency contact information and EAP’s based on ride location(s).

  • Backup snacks & knowledge of water refill locations.

  • Access to locker rooms and showers.

Required Equipment

  • Recently serviced mountain bike or demo mountain bike from a local bike shop.

  • Helmet.

  • Sunglasses, sunblock, bike gloves (as needed).

  • Hydration pack and/or water bottle.

  • Trail snacks.

  • Signed liability waiver.
